11 True Reasons Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money

11 True Reasons Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money

Blogging is an art of science, and you need to decode it, but beginners cant do it because they never follow the right strategies, shortcuts won’t take you too far, hard work + smart work will definitely but it takes years.

Most bloggers work hard 8 hours, 10+ hours but are always under 1000$/month (Rs 80000+) on average or even 100$ (Rs 8500+), while some never even earn a single rupee, and then some elite bloggers make 4.5.6 figures,/month, that’s a huge gap, right?

Let’s know the reasons and reduce this gap today 🙂

1. No Transformational Content

I guarantee you this that if you are a beginner, you don’t have a single transformational content on your website yet, it’s all generic content.

1. No Transformational Content

We all dump generic content over the Internet just like everyone else, but we are leaving out transformational content.

It’s the content that delivers real value, brings changes into someone’s life, helps us to solve a real problem of our viewers, and we build trust and authority.

You never bring credibility to your work, your authority is negligible, and this is why most bloggers fail, and this is not only for bloggers, it’s for everyone else, including YouTubers and more.

Example of Generic content: I can make WordPress websites for you

Transformational Content Example: I helped 5 clients to build & Grow their WordPress Websites by 50% in 30 days.

Transformational content shows the person how you solve their problem with proof, not just putting out what’s already there on the internet.

It’s your choice, be generic or be different. 🙂

2. Focusing On Quick Tips, Strategies

2. Focusing On Quick Tips, Strategies

This is the most common mistake that I even made in my initial blogging career, and its exhausting.

There are countless blogs, videos, and infographics that suggest quick tips, shortcuts, and some strategies that can help us to thrive online, get more views, subscribers, and even money.

Do you know that I have even seem claims like Make 100$/day with this 1 trick, and so many similar titles that clickbait you for money.

It’s not that it’s impossible, but maximum are fraud, or just repurpose content, and we think we are going to get income, but we get drained energy and efforts along with lack of consistency that ruins our mental health and even physical health and psychologically, we feel that making money online is pure scam.

But, it’s because we believe in everything we see and hear online, we think we will escape the rat race, and become independent financially, we don’t have any boss, we are our own boss.

But that takes years of effort, not some months, remember that.

There are definitely some frameworks and methodologies that can speed up our process, but no magic, sorry if you think so. There is only hard work + smart work.

3. Avoiding Link Building

My Goodness, how many times I have seen this in my life now! Every beginner forgets link building, either avoids it or only focuses on internal linking.

As soon as you launched your website, you need to ensure that you focus on link building and SEO practices.

Link building is the way that allows us to connect with credible sources on the planet. This helps search engines like Google to understand and trust us more, and we get more views and authority in the long run, which can make more money for us.

For link building, focus on internal linking initially and even external linking for maximum results.

4. Lack Of SEO Knowledge

4. Lack Of SEO Knowledge

Search engine optimization is beginner friendly mistake and its common since bloggers don’t know about SEO yet.

But SEO allows our website to get discovered by search engine and people who search online. This is why SEO is mandatory, its a necessary choice for every brand.

Use plugins like RankMath SEO, Yoast SEO, or All in One SEO for proper optimization of keywords, and focus on On-Page + Off Page + Technical SEO to gain positive results.

Beginners often do On-Page SEO correctly, but they forget the other 2, which are important, and avoiding them allows you to lose audience online.

There is also a new type of SEO, which is search everywhere optimization, and this means that you need to publish content on multiple social media platforms to stay relevant today, or you will vanish from people’s eyes online.

5. Not Optimizing For Humans

Well, we all think that let’s use professional words, and use AI tools like ChatGPT to generate content, and magic will happen, and therefore we will be blessed by the algorithm, but when it does not happen, many bloggers fail, and reality knocks.

Remember: You are writing your blogs for a specific audience, not for robots, okay, so always write for humans and not for robots. But why?

This is because first humans come and read your content, if they don’t like it, robots come and see that and never push your content forward, so make sure you optimize for humans.

Keep the readability easy, use easy language and vocabulary words, make sure you deliver the true search intent and value, don’t dump generic obvious content like always, there are millions of blogs out there already doing the same, so be different.

6. Lack Of Right Consistency

Lack Of Right Consistency

Ever heard online that be consistent, write blogs or make videos daily or weekly? Well, this is partially true. Lack of right consistency is the reason why beginners quit blogging and never come back.

They think blogging is hard, it’s saturated, there’s no room for improvement, but it’s all wrong thought process, or they are consistent for a few weeks, months, and then quit. But why?

The answer is the reason number 2 we discussed above, and it’s the general tips and strategies that make us think that just being consistent is enough. Do you know what’s right?

Standing up to the audience expectation and delivering quality content is the right consistency, so it means that you take your time but deliver what matters, it can be daily, but hard to be unique daily, right?

Weekly is the safest and sweetest spot, perhaps 2-3 times/week is good enough to publish posts, but be present on social media every day to stay ahead of the competition.

7. Wrong Monetization Strategy

Beginners are often impressed with ads like Google AdSense and think they can make hundreds and thousands of dollars monthly consistently for years and can live a job-free life, on their own terms.

But its not 100% correct approach. Many beginners don’t even know there are multiple ways to monetize their website apart from ads like:

  • Affiliate marketing
  • Sponsrships
  • Selling Digital Products
  • Services, and more

Do you know? Getting an AdSense account enabled is not so easy; it requires months of hard work, needs quality posts, some important pages on your website, and even decent initial views, but even that does not always guarantee approval of ads.

So focus on affiliate marketing and selling digital products from Day 1, yes is possible to start earning from Day 1 only, but as per me, wait for 1 month and write good blogs, build traffic, then start with monetization.

I do hope you will be able to monetize your content with your content. Remember to read my guide on how to start a blog for best results, as stated at the beginning of the blog.

8. Selecting The Wrong Niche (Use The Real Formula)

Selecting The Wrong Niche (Use The Real Formula)

Yes, it’s absolutely true, and perhaps you are working on the wrong niche, so focus on selecting the true profitable niche for your online business journey.

Wrong niche = Wrong Efforts = Wrong Results = Waste Of Time, Efforts & Energy = No Money

You might have heard that:

  • Choose a niche you are passionate about
  • Focus on trending niche
  • Choose for example, finance niche or health niche, technology for more views
  • Focus on micro-niche, etc.

The reality it, it’s always a mixture of all of them combined 🙂 and this is what beginners miss since we think one of them is enough, no, everything is important.

Do you know you can use the ECASNICHE Formula to find a niche and the Ikigai method?

No one shares them properly, but I did for free here on How to choose a profitable niche. 🙂

9. No Silo-Structure Of The Website (Extremely Crucial)

Perhaps one of the most critical mistakes a beginner can ever imagine and a silo-structure and dramatically improve your website performance.

A silo-structure is the architecture of your entire website where you sincerely discover and collaborate on important pages, posts of a website, within a category, and structure everything that can help search engines to discover your content, and audience, and use it easily to find you and your business.

10. Quitting Too Early

Never ever quit so early, never give up, blogging is never a short-term gaining asset, blogging is always a long-term game, and blogging will help you to develop writing skills, research, and reading skills that you can apply in your professional life.

Whenever bloggers publish mass content, but hardly see any views, sometimes even 0 traffic, 0 CTAs, they quit but this is where patience come true.

Blogging always works like this: after 6 months, 12 months, 24 months, you will surely get results, but only when you focus on previous points like transformational content, right consistency, silo-structure construction, right niche, and more.

Have you even done even 1 of these properly? Comment down below 🙂

11. Lack Of Honesty And Trust

Lack Of Honesty And Trust

Yes, believe me, too many bloggers sound robotic while we read their blogs. Why do you use AI to write the entire content?

You do have your brain right? Use it and use AI just as a research tool, tell me how your audience connect with you if you don’t even sound real?

Lack of Honesty and trust are major issues that are ignored in both the online and offline world nowadays.

Also, many bloggers simply copy-paste from other sites, thinking no one will figure it out, probably humans won’t, but the algorithm will surely understand it’s duplicate content and your website will be punished happily.

Publish unique content, add your own personal experience, build authority, expertise, experience, and trust, and this takes years, not happens instantly or in a few days or weeks or months, remember this clearly.

These are some important reasons why blogs fail and why bloggers quit, there is no magic in blogging, its pure hard work _ smart work with relevant skills that keeps on updating.

Also, remember: Blogging always keeps on evolving, so you need to know what’s working in the industry right now. Never go out of date under any condition.

FAQs On Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money Today

FAQs On Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money Today

There are countless questions, but I handpicked some of the most common amazing questions that people ask all over the Internet related to this amazing topic; they are quick insights into what’s happening in the online world.

Why Bloggers Struggle To Earn Money?

Bloggers struggle to earn money because they never focus on building a business; they focus on quick money, tips, and shortcuts.
You are probably working on the wrong niche, you didn’t make a silo-structure, you didn’t follow the Ikigai method, optimize your website on-page, off-page, and technical SEO from day 1, and instead of focusing on ads, focus on long-term growth, build your own products, and sell them.

What Is 80-20 Rule Of Blogging?

It’s a simple but effective blogging rule where 80% of the time you focus on delivering high-value content with promotions and 20% of the time you focus on building your content and managing your online business.

This simply means that 80% of your results come from the 20% of your hard work, but in the long term.

Is Blogging Profitable for beginners?

Yes, blogging is lucrative and profitable for beginners, and can even change someone’s life, professionally and even personally, but it needs consistent efforts, and consistent proper effective learning strategies for years, which is absolutely true.

Why Does No One Reads My Blog?

Well, it’s because you never focus on your audience, their pain points, you never deliver transformational content that solves a problem, all you do is put generic content, or you heavily rely on AI.
You need to make sure you are writing for your audience, not for algorithms or robots, so be honest, build trust, be humble, and be consistent in the right way without compromising the quality.

Why Do Bloggers Quit?

Bloggers quit because they lack discipline, build and work with the wrong mindset, they think they will publish anything and people will read it, they fail because they work with the intention to go viral, use AI heavily, and never write for a targeted audience, and when dreams shatter, they shatter too, and thus bloggers quit.

What is the average lifespan of a blog?

On average, bloggers maintain a blog for 2 years or less on average and this is alarming because beginners come and go but never make profits since blogging is a long-term game.

Why Bloggers Fail?

Bloggers fail because of their concrete short-term goals, lack of consistency, not following traditional and modern SEO, avoiding link building as much as they can, and writing for robots, not humans.

Conclusion On Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money Today

Conclusion On Why Bloggers Fail To Make Money Today

Blogging is effective for long-term bloggers, if you think I will write posts, publish, earn short term profits and leave, that’s not going to happen, professionals can find a way for that, not beginners.

Bloggers fail to earn money because they don’t provide the results that the world needs, and low-value delivery hampers everything, including procrastination.

Focus on effective strategies shared, apply them slowly into your website, and once you succeed, you will understand later why you failed before and why bloggers fail to make money online even today after so many effective blogs.

Remember, reading tips and strategies won’t help; applying them works, and it’s true.
